the sitting of 05 / 11, the Board of Directors of ASL 5 unanimously approved the reorganization plan proposed by management, and a few days ago the Mayor of our city has once again reiterated its support the new Health Plan Regional Councillor Montaldo, but stated that it accepted "only after having been assured for the future, the Department of S. Bartholomew were complementary to the new Felettino.
rated 19/11 on the findings in a meeting with the Executive Board - which I participated as a representative of the union 'Hospital Doctors' Association Executives (FESMED) and in which all the trade unions (both medical and otherwise) have declared totally contrary to that plan - not else if I can not infer that our Mayor has been treacherously deceived or that - alas - is an incurable naive ....! No warranty may in fact have received, except that the hospital "S. Bartholomew "will be substantially transformed into a long-term care medical facility (hospice oncology, geriatrics, cardiology, rehabilitation, infectious, Don Gnocchi, secure residence for the elderly) and a large clinic (diabetes center, core operating alcoologia, ophthalmology, surgery and outpatient surgery a day).
The approval of the plan is in fact just the latest (and probably the final one) of a long process of downsizing and quality of professional impoverishment of our hospital, which began shortly after his inauguration and stubbornly implemented by the Executive Board to the adverse current results , to the benefit of a "New Felettino" that is not there, even on paper! A new hospital that should arise when you do not know .... (If ever built ...?) And less suitable for the whole province in the place (at least this is my modest opinion and irrelevant).
The Plan of Reorganization provides for the "S. Bartholomew ": the abolition of the Department of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care, suppression of its place of prime abolition of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and transfer of all gynecologists in La Spezia to Sarzana, and the cancellation of the Division of Orthopaedics 2, absorbed in the Complex Company, with the hijacking of the whole trauma, "Andrew", the absorption of the Form of the Division of Nephrology Dialysis of La Spezia, La Spezia to the diversion of all surgical emergencies, with the additional and very serious downgrading of the Surgery Division of Sarzana, which - reduced to a staff medico numericamente insostenibile - verrà abilitata solo al trattamento delle patologie “a intensità di cura medio-bassa” (leggi: day-surgery), sottacendo l’intenzione (peraltro già velatamente preannunciata) di costringere il sottoscritto ad andare ad operare al “Sant’Andrea” i casi più complessi ….!
I know that someone will accuse me of dull provincialism, parochialism of short-sighted and ineffectual, if not unrealistic to attempt to defend some kind of unmentionable personal interests. I must say that I feel and from such allegations are absolutely immune, and that these "people" really could not care less. Moreover, as described, is nothing more than the current state, what is there for everyone, and that my only intention was to inform my fellow citizens of the facts as more correct and appropriate.
Nell'avvilente national scene of the unstoppable deterioration in the administration of public affairs, the gradual depletion of the hospital is certainly only a Sarzana small, as a minimum. But perhaps something can still fix it. Something, perhaps, in Italy you can still save. Maybe just a hospital ....! Maybe.
The Director of the SC of Surgery Hospital of Sarzana
